CODENEXT PUBLIC EVENT FOR CODE APPROACH ALTERNATIVES SEPT 4

The following information was received from the City CodeNext team:

The CodeNTEXT team invites the public to attend “From Here to There: Setting a Path for Austin’s Code,” taking place from 6 pm to 8:30 pm, Sept. 4 at the University of Texas’ Thompson Conference Center (http://goo.gl/5nGzo9) (2405 Robert Dedman Drive).

Attendees will learn more about the “Code Approach Alternatives & Annotated Outlines” document which identifies options to guide the revision of the code.

Dan Parolek of Opticos Design and others from the CodeNEXT team will present their recommended approach for helping Austin get where it wants to go. The event will be a chance for Austinites to ask questions about the three possible frameworks or approaches to revamping our code, and analyze how each might perform on key elements such as:
* How it is formatted and organized?
* How it is used to evaluate and approve permits for development projects?
* What kinds of development standards (types of regulations) are used?
