Time: 8 am to 1 pm (rain or shine)
Location: At least 38 homes in our neighborhood

We’ve had a record signup this year for the North Shoal Creek Neighborhood Association Garage Sale Event, with 38 homes signing up to participate. And you know a few more will pop up spontaneously around the neighborhood on Saturday morning, too.

If you want a head start at figuring out your shopping route,  here are two ways you can view a map with addresses of the participating homes:

We’ll have paper copies of the map flyer available at all participating garage sales on Saturday.

Some of our neighbors have been sharing interesting details with me about their sales:

  • 2700 Kerrybrook Lane — Myra and Martin Tenney, who have probably participated in the garage sale event every year NSCNA has hosted it, are selling a variety of collectible children’s books as well as what they elegantly call “junktiques.” In addition, the Tenneys are starting their sale Friday morning if you want a head start on shopping.
  • 2705 Thrushwood Drive — Collectibles and antiques, postcards, costume jewelry, paintings and prints.
  • 8308 Rockwood Lane — The sellers promise lots of plants.
  • 8311 Franwood Lane — After you pick up plants on Rockwood, drive (or walk) around the corner to this sale, which will include many flowerpots.
  • 8208 Sandalwood Cove — I visited Ilene Cossey’s sale last year and enjoyed seeing the variety of gourds she decorates and offers for sale, in sizes from Christmas tree ornaments to “too big for me to carry easily.”
  • 3216 Crosscreek Drive — This sale will feature “collectible vinyl records and (non-collectible) baby clothing.”

If you are having a sale on Saturday and want to tell us more about what you’re offering, please post the details over at the NSCNA Yahoo Group. I’m hoping we’ll share some tips about running garage sales, too.
