PUBLIC MEETING ON IMPROVING AUSTIN STREAM QUALITY

The following notice of a public meeting on improving Austin Stream Quality is posted for information and possible attendance of interested residents:

Wednesday, Nov. 28, 6:30 p.m.
One Texas Center Building
Room 325
505 Barton Springs Road
Austin, Texas 78704
Free parking available

Walnut Creek, Waller Creek, Taylor Slough and
Spicewood Tributary of Shoal Creek
Your involvement matters. Please help launch the public effort to
protect these four Austin streams, which are not meeting contact recreation
standards because of bacterial contamination.
At this meeting, City of Austin and Texas Commission on Environmental
Quality staff will give you information about these streams and how the water
quality will be improved through the Total Maximum Daily Load process.
Public input is essential to determine how to clean up these streams. This
initial meeting will launch the formation of a coordination committee to oversee development of a plan to bring the streams into compliance. We need your input into the creation of this committee, and encourage your involvement and stewardship to improve these streams.
