Here is the latest library news from John Gillum:
North Village Branch Library Replacement Project: Construction of the new North Village Branch Library continues apace at the moment. An alternate plan proposed by the contractor is being reviewed by the consultants to use the specified ice and water sheet for the building as the air barrier as well. The mechanical subcontractor is now on site and preparing to install the air ducts, after first insuring that there are no conflicts in their layout with the roof trusses. the underfloor power and data ducts have meanwhile been successfully installed throughout the building by the electrical subcontractor.
Work activities expected on site in the next few weeks include stucco and plaster, inspections of the roof deck attachments including welds and bolts, pouring of the interior and exterior concrete columns, grading at the rear drive, completion of the curbs and gutters, and installation of the pole bases for the parking lot lights. The opening of this facility to the public remains scheduled for Saturday, January 24, 2009.
