Some 150 neighbors turned out for North Shoal Creek’s 19th annual July 4th parade and party. Attendees showed a lot of ingenuity and creativity decorating not only themselves but kiddos, pets, bikes, and strollers as well. If you came, you could cool off with iced coffee from Epoch Coffee while catching up with friends you haven’t seen in a while. The kiddos had Jim Jim’s water ice, face painting, games, and just having fun together for their entertainment. Local businesses donated over $300 in gift cards for parade contest winners and lucky raffle holders.
If you didn’t come, you missed hearing neighbor and music teacher Judy Rowland give a magnificent rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. You also missed an opportunity to catch up with old friends, make news ones, and enjoy the camaraderie of neighbors coming together to celebrate our nation’s 243rd birthday.
July 4th is NSCNA’s biggest event of the year, and pulling it off takes the combined efforts of a lot of volunteers. We almost fell short this year, but people stepping forward and helping at the last minute got us over the finish line. To those of you who volunteered, thank you very much. To the local businesses who sponsored us with gift cards and treats, thank you very much too. Without your help, our July 4th parade and celebration would never have happened.
