Celebrate Draft Land Development Code Release on February 1st

CodeNEXT is a rewrite of the City of Austin’s land development code, which dictates what you can build and where. The City of Austin’s current land development code was written in the 80s, and overdue for a rewrite to match today’s Austin.
The CodeNEXT team will release a new draft code next week and wants feedback from the public to ensure that we are building the best Austin for all its residents.
This kickoff event is scheduled for February 1st at the Palmer Event Center (900 Barton Springs Road) from 4p.m. to 6 p.m. The event is a celebration of the release of the new code. It starts with an open house at 4 p.m. and a call to action from the Mayor at 5. The event will be followed by a Code Advisory Group meeting at 6:30 p.m.
