In November 2009, NSCNA helped organize and run a rummage sale to help benefit the nearby North Village Library, which had its periodicals budget severely cut. The rummage sale raised enough money to buy subscriptions for all the newspapers and magazines the library requested for 2010.
We still had enough money left to fund many of the library’s periodical subscription requests for 2011. We recently spent the last $476 from the rummage sale proceeds on 30 magazine subscriptions for the North Village Library, as detailed below. The Friends of the North Village Library group, which also helped run the 2009 sale, ran a thrift sale of their own in late 2010 and are funding other subscriptions as well.
Thanks again to all of you who helped with the rummage sale, bought things or donated money. It’s great to see that we raised enough funds to cover TWO years of many subscriptions the library needed.
