NSCNA’s membership and Board have voted to oppose the PUD, so NSCNA’s official position remains opposed to it. However, the Board recognizes the importance of ALL North Shoal Creek residents expressing their opinions whether in support or in opposition. * is opposed by > 40% of the property owners within 200′;
* is deficient in housing (especially affordable, family-friendly units);
* does not adequately mitigate traffic impacts;
* kills too many trees (283 heritage and protected trees);
* exceeds 5-story building heights adjacent to neighborhoods along MoPac.Please oppose the Austin Oaks PUD (case C814-2014-0120). Thank you.”

Austin Resource Recovery & Economic Development Department l City of Austin:My name is Alejandra Duarte and I’m with the City’s Austin Resource Recovery department. Our first Fix-It Clinic of the year is coming up soon on Saturday, February 11th and we would greatly appreciate your help spreading the word! Last year, Austin Public Library ‘s bookstore Recycled Reads, and Austin Resource Recovery diverted over 350 lbs. of material from the landfill by hosting Fix-It Clinics. We match volunteer repair coaches with folks interested in repairing rather than discarding their broken household items.

Celebrate Draft Land Development Code Release on February 1st
Communications & Public Information from City of Austin:CodeNEXT is a rewrite of the City of Austin’s land development code, which dictates what you can build and where. The City of Austin’s current land development code was written in the 80s, and overdue for a rewrite to match today’s Austin.
The CodeNEXT team will release a new draft code next week and wants feedback from the public to ensure that we are building the best Austin for all its residents.
This kickoff event is scheduled for February 1st at the Palmer Event Center (900 Barton Springs Road) from 4p.m. to 6 p.m. The event is a celebration of the release of the new code. It starts with an open house at 4 p.m. and a call to action from the Mayor at 5. The event will be followed by a Code Advisory Group meeting at 6:30 p.m.
