The Conversation Corps Day of Day Dialogue is scheduled for Monday, February 20:
Our first ever Day of Dialogue is right around the corner, and we hope you’re planning to join us! On Monday, February 20 (Presidents’ Day!) our goal is to bring awareness to the importance of dialogue in addressing our community’s needs. Our challenge to you is to spend time listening to others – understand how issues impact the people around you, connect with them through shared values and build an understanding of different perspectives.

We will be hosting five open houses to roll-out the CodeNEXT draft. We have secured AISD venues throughout the city and we are inviting all Austinites to attend and participate. These open houses are not specific to Council districts but are conveniently located across Austin to facilitate attendance and participation. The purpose of these open houses is to learn about the draft code, speak to code experts who drafted portions of the draft, and provide feedback.
Please assist us in spreading the word to your networks, constituents, associations and networks by sharing the attached fliers and pointing folks to the links below.
Here is the link to the draft code which provides opportunities for public feedback. If the comments are provided by a board or commission member, I recommend they log into the online draft using their BC email address. Prior to reading the draft code, I suggest reading the information below:

Here is a link to the online CodeNEXT survey – through the collaborative and comprehensive process of CodeNEXT, problems in the existing Land Development Code (LDC) were identified and solutions were developed to align the LDC with the values and vision of the Imagine Austin Comprehensive Plan. In the ongoing effort to solicit public input in the CodeNEXT process, this survey will ask you how well these solutions address the issues identified as problematic in Austin’s LDC.
In addition, there are a number of public engagement events that will be helpful to understanding the code.

We are approaching the final meetings for the North Shoal Creek neighborhood plan. We invite every resident, business, and property owner in the neighborhood to join us for the upcoming workshop on Saturday, February 25th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Pillow Elementary School cafeteria. Please join us for refreshments and a conversation with your fellow residents about your neighborhood. At the meeting we will discuss the draft Future Land Use Map, draft Visions and Policies, and application of CodeNEXT. After the February workshop there will be at least one more public meeting to comment on the draft plan prior to the formal adoption process.
In addition to the upcoming meetings, please visit the North Shoal Creek Plan web page for more information about the neighborhood and the planning process. The page is your hub for everything that has been going on with the plan since we began last October.

On Thursday, Feb. 9, the Austin City Council approved an item at its regular meeting that allows staff to negotiate a contract with HDR Engineering to be the Corridor Improvements Consultant. The Consultant will work with City of Austin staff to conduct analysis and collect public input for the 2016 Mobility Bond Corridor Improvement Projects.
