  • Meeting #2 for the North Shoal Creek Neighborhood Plan will be held on November 5th

We would like you to help determine the future of your neighborhood. The North Shoal Creek neighborhood planning area includes everything surrounded by US 183, Burnet Road, Anderson Lane, and Mopac. We invite every resident, business, and property owner in the neighborhood to join us. At the first meeting we discussed what makes a complete community. The second meeting will focus on how you travel within and outside of your neighborhood. The meeting is on Saturday, November 5th, 2016, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Pillow Elementary School cafeteria. Please note that the date has changed! Please join us for refreshments and a conversation with your fellow residents about your neighborhood. Additional meetings will come in December and next year.

In addition to the upcoming meetings, please visit the North Shoal Creek Plan web page for more information about the neighborhood and the planning process. Results from the first meeting and the complete community survey will be posted soon.

Please forward this message to your neighbors in North Shoal Creek. To sign up for this list, or if you have any questions, please contact me via email or telephone (see below). We look forward to helping you chart the course for North Shoal Creek!

  • The Crestview Neighborhood Association is hosting a debate on the upcoming $720,000,000 transportation bond at their Monday, October 10th meeting. Two guest speakers will be there, one in favor of the bond and one against, to answer questions from a moderator and the audience.

North Shoal Creek residents are invited to attend.

The meeting starts at 7 PM, at the Crestview United Methodist Church, 1300 Morrow St.

Also, the October issue of the Crestview Neighborhood Association Newsletter contains an article by Mayor Steve Adler in support of the bond issue and an article by Roger Falk, Travis County Taxpayers Union, against the bond. • From Michael J. Gaudini, Policy Advisor, Council Member Leslie Pool’s Office, District 7

    Hello,

My name is Michael and I work in Council Member Pool’s office. As you may know, city planning staff will soon be kicking off the North Shoal Creek Neighborhood Plan.

This process is an important opportunity for you and your neighbors in North Shoal Creek to contribute to the community’s vision for the neighborhood and its future. Once completed, the North Shoal Creek Neighborhood Plan will guide the city’s zoning and land use decisions in order to achieve the values and goals expressed by the community in the plan.

City planning staff will initiate this effort at a community meeting this Saturday, October 1 from 9 AM to 12 PM in the cafeteria at Pillow Elementary (3025 Crosscreek Dr.). This first meeting will involve city staff learning what residents like best about their neighborhood, as well as what their concerns are.

I would encourage all interested residents to participate in this process as it moves forward.

For more information on the North Shoal Creek Neighborhood Plan process and timeline:

Thank you! Please do not hesitate to contact our office on this or any other city-related matter at District7@AustinTexas.gov.
